Treat your body like a temple
Long, long ago, Lord Buddha said that keeping the body in good health is a duty we all must perform; otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear. People spend their whole lives earning money on the cost of their health and it’s only in their 40s that they repent as to why they never gave time to themselves, but by that time, it becomes very hard to reverse the damage that has been done.
Who is going to be there with you in every situation? Not your relatives, not your friends, but only and only yourself and your body. It’s very tragic that we treat our bodies like a garbage bin and eat shit. We always eat for taste and never think about eating for function. We are the puppets of those few seconds of pleasure that good taste gives us. Pizza gives you the taste only for a few seconds, but makes you prone for obesity in the long term.
Not exercising or not eating clean happens for a reason, and that reason is your busy schedule. Actually it’s never about being busy, it’s just about your priorities. Our body comes at the bottom of the priority list for us. In your 20’s and 30’s, it may not bother you that much but in it’s only in your late 40’s that you will repent as to why you never gave proper attention to yourself. Don’t let that situation arise, 30 minutes a day and 4 times a week can happily help you remain fit.
Excuses are no good. You just end up cheating yourself. All your excuses will vanish after having look at the age and the training sessions of a few “not so young” Bollywood superstars.
Age 48 Years (DOB – December 27, 1965)
Salman works out two hours a day, including an hour of cardio. In case of a very busy schedule, he does cycling on the set itself. Is it not amazing that even at the age of 48, he is able to maintain 6 pack abs?
Age 48 Years (DOB – November 2, 1965)
His training session is like worship for him. His trainer since the past 14 years, Prashant Sawan, says that Shahrukh can train for one and a half hour without a break. If you remember, in 2007, at the age of 41, it was Shahrukh Khan only who popularized the concept of six pack abs in India.
Age 49 Years (DOB – March 14, 1965)
At the age of 43, Aamir used to work out for 3 hours a day when he was preparing for his film Ghajini. When it came to Dhoom 3, apart from training at the gym, he also used to swim for an hour daily and was also involved in martial arts training.
Age 46 years (DOB – September 09, 1967)
Akshay starts his day by getting up at 4:30 am and taking a walk for an hour in order to warm up. He then undergoes an intense one hour martial art training session, alternating between kick boxing and shadow boxing, followed by some stretching exercises along with yoga.
Age 40 years (DOB – January 10, 1974)
No words need to be spoken about him, his body says it all. At the moment, Hrithik undoubtedly has the sexiest body in all of Bollywood. He trains for hours on a daily basis and is said to have the most intense workout sessions in B town.
If you think that these men have an easy lifestyle and have a lot of time to hit the gym, then you are highly mistaken. Shooting for 15 hours a day is no easy feat, but still they never compromise with their training and even end up training on the movie sets after midnight.
These top 5 stars of Bollywood are around 15-25 years older than most of my colleagues and friends, but still way way fitter.
